What's the deal with our Ready for You! Budget Wedding Cakes?

Our Ready for You! Budget Wedding Cakes, TLBB's answer to the M&S off the peg wedding cake, launched last year. We know quite a few of you probably have questions about them, so here's a deep dive into this fantastic line of cakes that offer all the quality you'd expect from us - with a much smaller price tag.

What is a Ready for You! Wedding Cake?

A one or two-tier cake, in a semi-naked finish, that you collect from our bakery and either leave simply decorated or add your own choice of decorations to.

What's the difference between a Ready for You! Wedding Cake and a Bespoke Wedding Cake?

They're a third of the price of our Bespoke Wedding Cakes! They have to be collected. They come in a choice of 5 standard flavours instead of our full range, and both tiers must be the same flavour if it's a two-tier cake.

There is no tasting consultation available for a Ready for You! Wedding Cake, but you can pop in and try the flavours on our counter before buying if you like.

What flavours do they come in then?

Victoria sponge, lemon, chocolate with vanilla buttercream, chocolate & salted caramel, and coffee.

Can you deliver them?

No. The lower pricing of this range is based around them being a standard click & collect order with minimal admin time, and no staff time out of the bakery.

Tell us some easy ways to decorate them ourselves...

As in the example picture above, it's really easy to add your own topper! Flowers can be inserted using flower pics which you can buy on Amazon or we can advise you on in store. You can add macarons, fruit, cake balls, cake charms, or, if you're a baker yourself, any fondant or buttercream decorations you wish!

Why buy a Three Little Birds Ready for You! Cake instead of an M&S one or Patisserie Valerie one?

For a start, they come stacked already, so you don't have to faff around with dowels, buttercream and nervous breakdowns the day of your wedding.

Second, we use 5 ingredients in our sponges (plus baking powder and vanilla). Whereas M&S and Patisserie Valerie's ingredients look a little something like this:

Mmmm, who doesn't love a bit of humectant and vegetable wax on their Wedding Day Menu?!

Our cakes are made with lush ingredients and better recipes. No dense, dry Madeira here - just light, fluffy, Three Little Birds sponges filled and covered with Swiss Meringue Buttercream - which in comparison to standard buttercream is like a Tiffany engagement ring next to one from Claire's.

All of the same luxury in our Bespoke Cakes, for a fraction of the price.

Patisserie Valerie post their cakes - and guess what, they don't always get there in time. See this recent story for a good example of where we saved the day for a poor ex-PV customer.

Also, ours look nicer.

Are they difficult to transport?

No. They're fully stacked, set and chilled, then boxed up for you to collect them. Pop them in your boot and take them straight to a fridge - your venue will likely have plenty of space. They can be set up a few hours before serving so they come up to room temperature and are nice and soft for eating. Nobody likes cold cake.

Can we add a third tier?

Nope, sorry. We wouldn't be able to tell you that you could confidently transport a three-tiered cake, and we want to guarantee that as long as you follow our instructions, your cake will arrive perfectly. We use special boxes to transport our three-tiered cakes and they're around £80 each.

So how much do they actually cost?

A two-tier starts from £135, serving approximately 45 finger portions. That's £3 a portion which is quite frankly lunacy for what we make. It would be more expensive to take 45 mates to Costa for a muffin.

Alright, you've convinced me. How do I book?

This is the BEST part! Simply click and collect online using the link HERE.

Literally just a few clicks and then rock up at our bakery on Cavendish Street, Keighley, to collect (you'll get an email the week of your cake collection with details of opening times and storage recommendations).

Just make sure you book it for the right date...
