Rebecca Severs

​

Owner, Cake Designer & Decorator

​

Bec set up the business in November 2015, after a love of baking grew into the desire to build a new career around her three children. The business has grown slowly but surely, and we were so excited to open our shop in Keighley in May 2023 - a real milestone.

​

Bec's specialisms are buttercream florals and sugar flowers as well as writing new recipes for cake flavours. She's also built and maintains our website and does most of our social media. Bec has three daughters and is married to Aidan who you'll sometimes see on the counter. She has a dog and a cat that she adores too!

​

Bec: "I love working alongside our amazing team and sometimes can't believe I get to do a job that I love this much. I still love the baking and decorating side of things but I also love running a business and all the joys and challenges that come with that!"

Debbie

 

Baker & Cake Decorator

 

With her extensive experience in retail, customer service, photography and running her own cake business for a number of years, Debbie brings an enormous amount to the Three Little Birds table.

 

Debbie specialises in working with buttercream cakes, drip cakes, buttercream piping, designing delicious new flavours for our products and overseeing our team customer service training. She's always a friendly face on our counter and brightens up our, and your, days! You'd be hard pressed to find someone as kind and as caring as her.

 

In her spare time Debbie enjoys the theatre, especially feel good musicals and ballets. She also loves entertaining.

 

Debbie: "A happy family life is everything to me and being able to work alongside being a parent is invaluable to me, doing a job I love, maintaining my independence and learning new skills and meeting lots of lovely people along the way."

With fantastic experience in pastry cheffing at the highest level, cake decorating, retail and customer service, Megan is a great asset to our team. Her ability to make anything out of carved cakes and fondant is amazing, from illusion fish and chip cakes to pheasants to cute unicorns and everything in between! She's also a super caring member of the team and always looks out for her colleagues. And she makes a banging cuppa...

​

Megan also specialises in Lambeth piping which is very popular with our vintage-style heart and sheet cakesIn her spare time Megan enjoys spending time with her family, getting outside with the dog, meeting up with friends and "fighting off the mum bod" with workouts. 

 

Megan: "I like that in my job it's something different every week. It keeps each day exciting and fresh and full of new challenges!"

Ella

First joining us on maternity leave cover, Ella fast became an extremely valued part of the team! Her background in Pastry including running the Pastry Section of a high end Italian restaurant has set her in good stead to produce some of our most delicious counter products. But she's also become an expert in buttercream finishing and now turns out cakes of the highest standards. Ella is so committed and hardworking and manages to get an awful lot done in a short space of time. Her positive, calm attitude is a real asset to the bakery.

Ella: "I love working in a friendly and happy environment where I can learn new skills and develop my passion for baking every day.

I love being part of a team that brings customers' ideas to life by creating beautiful cakes. Seeing happy customers is one of the best parts of the job.

Outside of work I like to spend time with friends, try new restaurants and see new places around the world."

Lilly

Lilly first came into the bakery while attending a Cake Decorating Class, and she immediately piqued our interest as a natural talent for buttercream work! She achieved Pastry Level 2 and then designed and baked cakes for a popular local cafe before starting work as a Kitchen Porter at Three Little Birds.

​​

She proved herself as a determined and thorough Kitchen Porter who never shirks from hard work and is 100% committed to her role. Since then she's gone from strength to strength, being promoted to Baker & Decorator and now overseeing some of the Production side of the bakery. 

​

Lilly: "I love how creative my job can be and being surrounded by a team who loves what each and every one of us achieves each day. It's also such a lovely feeling being part of our customers' special celebrations by creating such memorable and meaningful cakes! It's such a bonus having a job that stemmed from a hobby too"

​

"Outside of work I'm always cooking baking as that's what I love most, finding new crafts to keep me busy and spending my time with my friends."

Kitchen Porter

 

Our customers love Tom and so do we! He's a ray of sunshine who's also a dab hand at making hilarious reels for you to all to enjoy.​

​

Tom works hard keeping our bakery clean and tidy every day and is also a stickler for organisation and upholding the highest standards of presentation with our gift packaging and on our counter. He's only been here a few months, but now we can't imagine the place without him.

​

Tom: "No two days are ever the same at the bakery, which is one of the things I love most. I genuinely love the people I work with, and it's really rewarding being part of a business that means so much to the community and creates something meaningful every day. 

​

"Outside of work, I love musical theatre and performing because I love entertaining and meeting new people, which is probably why I enjoy getting to know so many lovely customers too. It goes without saying that there's always a song being sung throughout the day!"
